The year 2021 marked a significant anniversary for Jesuits and Jesuit institutions – the 500th anniversary of the events that led to the conversion of St Ignatius Loyola, founder of the Jesuits. To mark the occasion, IAJU organised a film competition for students at Jesuit universities and colleges, with the theme of the 4 focus areas of the Jesuit mission from 2019 to 2029: Spirituality, Excluded, Youth, Ecology.
The competition started on 31st July 2022 and the films were presented at the IAJU (International Association of Jesuit Universities) Assembly in Boston on 4rd August 2022. There were 80 films submitted to the competition. Two short films from AJU-AP were in the Special Selection with other 17 and 5 winning films. The films from AJCU-AP are Soliloguy (Sanata Dharma University, Indonesia) and The missionary heart in Japan (Sophia University, Japan)
