The Ignatian Year

Celebrating the 500th Anniversary of the Conversion of St. Ignatius of Loyola

The 500th anniversary of St. Ignatius’ life-changing transformation – that terrible day when he was a young soldier in the Spanish army, strucked by a cannonball, and began his transformation into Ignatius the pilgrim – falls on May, 2021.  St. Ignatius had a spiritual conversion while in recovery and instantly determined to make a change: he acquired a new sense of purpose and went out to form the Society of Jesus.

This year, The Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities in Asia Pacific (AJCU-AP) will celebrate the 500th anniversary of St. Ignatius’ “cannonball” moment by conducting three-activities, these are:

  1. AJCU-AP Online Round Table Discussion for Faculty Members
  2. AJCU-AP Online Round Table Discussion for Students
  3. AJCU-AP Short Video Competitions for students
