Christ’s Peace!

On behalf of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities in Asia and the Pacific, I am pleased to invite you to our Annual Meeting which will be held in the Ateneo de Davao University, Davao City, Philippines this 26-27 August 2014. Our meeting precedes the Association of Southeast and East Asian Catholic Colleges and Universities (ASEACCU) meeting which will be held on 28-30 August 2014, also in Ateneo de Davao University.

This year, Fr. Patxi Alvarez, SJ, head of the Social Justice and Ecology Secretariat (SJES) of the Society of Jesus, will give a talk on the role of Jesuit universities in the promotion of social justice, especially in the context of the Asia-Pacific region.

A conversation session is also being prepared for inputs on the current peace process in the Philippines, particularly the Bangsamoro Peace Accord signed on March 14, 2014, which gives a hopeful resolution to the decades-old struggle for peace in Mindanao.
